the founder of Seattle Birth Co.

For more than 15 years, birth has been both my profession and a deeply personal calling.

My journey began at Evergreen Hospital, where I spent nine years working in Labor & Delivery and the Emergency Department. That experience became the foundation for my private doula practice, where I have since had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families through hospital births, birth centers, home births, VBACs, high-risk pregnancies, inductions, and unmedicated births.

Over the years, I have continued to deepen my education through advanced doula training and specialized birth courses because I believe the families I serve deserve more than good intentions. They deserve someone who is knowledgeable, steady, and prepared to meet birth as it unfolds.

But experience and education are only part of what I bring into the room.

I am also a mother of four, and my own journey through birth and motherhood has shaped this work in a very personal way. I have known the vulnerability of becoming a mother, the weight of carrying so much while trying to find your footing, and the ache of needing more support than was available to me at the time.

That experience became a big part of my “why.”

I pour my heart into the mothers I serve because I know how much it matters to feel seen, cared for, and not alone during such a tender season. I want you to have someone beside you who notices how you are doing, not just how labor is progressing.

I believe exceptional doula care is a balance of knowledge and intuition, preparation and flexibility, evidence-based care and deep respect for the physiology of birth. No two families are the same, and no two births ask for the same kind of support.

My role is not to shape your birth into one specific experience, but to help you feel prepared, informed, and deeply supported — so that however your birth unfolds, you can look back on it as a positive and empowering experience.

Sometimes that means education and thoughtful preparation. Sometimes it means hands-on comfort, reassurance, and practical guidance. Sometimes it means helping you slow things down, understand your options, and find clarity when the path changes. And sometimes, it simply means being the calm, steady person beside you who knows when to speak, when to act, and when to quietly hold your hand.

Birth is intimate, vulnerable, and unforgettable. Being invited into that space is a privilege I never take lightly.

Hello, I am Dasha!

My Approach

My role is to walk alongside you through pregnancy, birth, and those tender first days afterward — bringing experience, education, hands-on care, and a deep trust in your ability to make the choices that are right for you and your baby.

My support is grounded in four things:

  • Compassionate, Hands-On Support
Birth asks a lot of you — physically and emotionally. I offer steady reassurance, comfort measures, positioning, encouragement, and a calming presence, while creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and cared for without judgment.

  • Education & Preparation
Knowledge can replace fear with confidence. I provide clear, practical, evidence-based education so you understand what to expect, know your options, and feel prepared to make informed decisions — even when birth takes an unexpected turn.

  • Advocacy & Guidance
Your voice matters. I help you ask questions, understand what is being offered, communicate your preferences, and navigate important decisions so you can remain an active participant in your own birth experience.

  • Postpartum Care & Continuity
Birth is not the finish line — it is the beginning of an entirely new chapter. My support continues into those first tender days as you process your birth, recover, adjust, and begin finding your way into life with your new baby.

Through it all, my goal is simple: for you to feel informed, respected, deeply supported, and able to look back on your birth as a positive and empowering experience — however it unfolds.

With love,
Dasha Litvinov, CD(DONA), CCCE, CVBLD, CSBP
